Abstract

Almost one million U.S. minority students are over medicated and misdiagnosed with minimal brain dysfunction, according to a recent study. ADHD is a neurological turnover which can be controlled with medication. look finds that many children currently medicated for ADHD do not truly have the disorder. investigate discusses the different types of ADHD medication and the positives and negatives of each. Research as well includes the necessity of parental as well as school involvement when relations with the ADHD child. Some researchers give notice ADHD is not a disorder but quite a an adaptive trait. When positively dealt with can be a bang-up benefit to the ADHD child. Researchers also cited well known persons who had the disorder but went on to become great Americans. Instead of looking for at it as a disorder we should view it as children having different characteristics and strengths. Research acknowledges that although ADHD children face difficulties, we should think positively about it and hello children reach their just potential.



There has also been attention given to the possibility of a connection amongst children that are gifted and children with ADHD. There may actually be a misdiagnosis of children who are gifted and their giftedness may be unmarked due to being medicated for ADHD.
