The Birth of Impressionism

Impressionism is a style of wile that developed in France in the 1870s. This style of finessework began when quartet students of the painter Marc Gleyre started produceting together, and teasing the traditionalistic rules of art. These four students were Manet, Renoir, Sisley, and Bazille. Since 1648 the rules of art had been set by the French academy of Fine Arts. The honorary society did non consider social movement pictures of day-after-day events to be art. They emphasized paintings that taught ethical or virtuous lessons through and through historic, mythological, or Biblical themes.
