Creon and Haemon are arguing about Antigones fate. Creon is outfadd that Antigone has disobeyed his orders and buried the body of her deceased brother, Polynices. Haemon disagrees, trying to convince his fuss that Antigones act was honorable and pure. He thinks that Creon should listen to his good deal and spare Antigones life.
Creon: The people of Thebes? Since when do I way out my orders from the people of Thebes? I am king, and responsible only to myself. I have made my decision, that deceitful girl go away die.
Haemon: Oh father, I could call you mad, were you not my father. Your stubbornness makes me ill. Is that your final word, then?
Creon: Yes. Ill repeat once more that she has betrayed our kingdom by disobeying my orders. She will suffer for deceiving me. Haemon, you must forget Antigone for invariably. You should be ashamed of yourself for ever loving her and trying to protect her. I hope that this fortuity has opened your eyeball and shown you how inexplicably ruthless she was. Now be off, my son.

Haemon runs out, outraged.
Creon: (shouting after him) Shes just a girl!!

Creon sits back down in his seat, shakes his head, closes his eyes and is still, concentrated on his thoughts. After a few moments, Creon dozes off. Ismene belatedly enters the room.
