The traditional view of women in society was to take a breather at home, clean, raise children, and to help with the family farm. (Schultz, 271) This view started to change virtually the late 19th century and during the industrial revolution. Male control kept women at home but in the premature 19th century, legislatures and educators began expanding the opportunities of women in program line. Though there were some exceptions and problems with women and education was womens first step considering they could now get jobs in treat and law. During the Civil War, women took over some of their husbands jobs and temporarily stopped fighting for suffrage. They started helping the black slaves achieve freedom. The antislavery movement, the fifteenth amendment, pushed women further down the trail leading to suffrage. (Schultz, 271) Although it took three amendments and 90 solid years of hard fighting for women to obtain the 19th amendment; they finally did achieve their goal. The importance of the 19th Amendment is to provide the correct for citizens of the United States to right to vote. They shall not be denied by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
The important purpose of this amendment is to allow any United States citizen the right to vote and that goes for women as well. The 19th Amendment was able to put an end to womens suffrage. (Origins of Womens Suffrage in the U.S) It shouldnt matter whether someone is a different sex or not, everyone should have the right to vote.
    oer the years, the fight for the right to vote was a difficult military operation for women. It lasted many years and involved many people.
