In Shooting an Elephant, George Or closely encounters criticism and imperialism in such a way that captivates his readers. The elephant came into the story, and it began a symbol of what Orwell had to deal with, to fulfill his job duties, to become the police officer the people expected him to be.
The question for a while was will he flit the elephant? The elephant had destroyed a hut, and killed a person yet when starring at the elephant, Orwell portrays feelings of perhaps remorse, and states himself that he truly did not want to kill the elephant. I personally, would vote to not shoot the animal an animal that is not in his regular environment who I am sure, if it was with his owner would not kill people or destroy anything. Still, Orwell makes sure to mention the roaring collection following him, the crowd that is rooting him to kill the animal the crowd, that I am sure would only be satisfied if the elephant was dead.
