Introduction
Before we jut to analyze the use of imagery in Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Wolf, I would desire to make a brief explanation on what imagery is and its place in literature. I would also like to add that I will be explaining the use of imagery in the book which means I will not be able to give every example here since there is a lot of imagery used in this book and giving all the scenes would require a deeper analyze of the to the book.
To start explaining imagery, we potentiometer in short say that imagery is writing that appeals to one or more of the five senses. mental imagery is frequently written using similes, metaphors or personification, which we mark off in many works from poems to novels. Many writers use imagery to pay off a picture without saying directly what the image is. This bearing of writing adds a unique mystery to the poem, story or novel. imaging is best used in nature, but it can also be used for describing inanimate objects. Many writers stock-still use imagery to display something that cannot be seen, such as wind or heat.

Good use of imagery is ofttimes written in a simple way that is practically like the way a child would see things. Sometimes, however, imagery can be complex and hard to understand too. In Mrs. Dalloway we can see that Virginia Wolf uses many images such as; trees and flowers, Peter Walshs penknife and water and sea.
We can understandably say that imagery is an important element in writing. Imagery can stimulate the imagination and create vivid pictures in the mind. Imagery can have a different prepare on everybody. Some people will see things in a different way than other people see them.
