For this screen I visited craft marks and plazas of informal trade. The four places that I meet the most interesting batch were at commonality Market, Camps Bay road, Muizenberg market and the Constantia craft market. I was inspirited and provoked by the ideas and the reality of the people I meet, but choose however the comments from four people during the interviews for this essay. My investigation started unwrap very hesitant as I feared having to approach people ab forth their lively woods. I too seemed out of place as these gatherings as it was very focused on tourist, the one thousand market. It was busy and noisy and I had to keep moving as people use the gather to buy and sell and public people use it as a walk through. It was with child(p) to see the art works. Then I finally acquire a shy looking lady if I could ask her some questions, she was scared as she has no work earmark so for the essay I promised to use a some other name. Mary is a Zimbabwean lady who has only been in Cape Town a year but her hubby has been here for four years. She as a Masters layer in Education and she sell paintings made by her husband and friends.
She was dead set against a dealer as she was current they would get ripped polish off. When I told her that she was indeed the dealer for her husband she was prosperous as she would benefit directly and would not rip him off as she too would suffer. She said that no one could read the story in these paintings better then a Zimbabwean as only they know the truth. She made the prices herself and it was still both expensive but she was very pushing wanting to start out a deal and was able to cut the price in half….but I could not afford it even if I had money.
