Competition.
This word brings forth images of athletes racing through the last line, gold medals adorned on their necks as proof that they render finally achieved what they have fought for their entire life. The truth is, however, that these are the images of victory- contestation leads to victory, yes, but it in any case as easily leads to defeat. Competition is delimitate as, a contest between individuals or groups that arises whenever two or more par absorbs strive for a goal which cannot be share, and with that clear definition it is easy to see that competition in and of itself requires two people, on an even playing field, to strive for the alike(p) goal. But when unrivaled is more concerned with victory than with competition, a dark side of acrobaticism appears; those athletes who, contrary to the spirit of competition, plow extraordinary means to grant themselves an unfair advantage. It is not that punishing to understand why these athletes would do such a thing- the ask for victory is the essence of competitive sports- but when the paths taken to make believe victory become a dangerous road to travel, one has violated the spirit of competition.
